With spring comes garage sale season! As more ground signs start popping up, the City of Fulton wants to remind everyone of the following regulations to help keep our streets safe and clear:
Sec. 92-53. Ground Signs.
Ground signs are subject to the following restrictions:
1. They shall be located no closer than six feet to adjacent right-of-way lines or structures.
2. They shall not obstruct vision at any intersection or vehicular access point.
3. They may not exceed six feet in height above the mean ground level under the sign.
4. The height of any planter, pedestal or support structure shall be included in the calculation of sign height.
5. No associated support structure shall exceed a height of six feet.
6. No ground sign shall exceed 100 square feet in area except as provided in this chapter.
7. Not more than one ground sign shall be erected on any one lot or tract of land, except that one sign for each 300 feet of frontage may be erected provided that such signs are located 300 feet apart on such lot or tract of land. No ground sign when erected on a lot fronting on intersecting streets shall be erected within 25 feet of the intersection of the streets.
8. They shall not be erected on any parcel or premises which has an existing ground or directory sign except as provided herein.
9. On corner lots a ground sign will be allowed on each street side of such building.

Important: If your sign doesn’t follow these rules, it may be removed by city crews.
